Now in its fifth year, the PDL Student Grant Program is designed to alleviate some of the financial pressure that can limit students from attending valuable pharmacy conferences.

Each student will receive a $5,000 grant to support their attendance to a recognised pharmacy conference in Australia. The funds contribute to event registration, travel, meals and accommodation.

Winner Huynh Thanh Truc commented, “I am very grateful to PDL for this incredible opportunity to attend a pharmacy conference. While I have previously volunteered as a student at conferences, this will be my first time attending with full registration. I am looking forward to learning from industry leaders and academics.”

While winner Erin shares that “winning the PDL grant is a lifechanging opportunity for me…I am beyond excited to broaden my perspective on pharmacy through a global lens and look forward to integrating these experiences into both my education and everyday practice.”

The 2025 Student Grant program received a record number of submissions, nearly double the amount of 2024. Applicants were assessed based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement and their responses to our criteria.

The PDL Student Grant Committee was extremely impressed with the standard of applications from students and had a very difficult decision selecting the winners. Curtis Ruhnau, Chair of the PDL NSW/ACT Local Advisory Committee (LAC) and grant committee member, commented, “The quality of submissions being so high made the judging very difficult – a nice problem to have.”

Curtis also further congratulated our winners. “These students have demonstrated remarkable dedication to their studies and a clear commitment to the future of pharmacy. We’re excited to support their journey and help nurture the next generation of pharmacy professionals.”

PDL thanks all applicants for their interest and effort and wishes to remind students that if they were unsuccessful this year, they are encouraged to apply to our Student Grant Program in 2026.
