Following the recent Director elections for South Australia/Northern Territory and Queensland, PDL announces Paula Kwan and Bruce Elliot as the new Directors of the PDL Board.

Paula has been elected as the Director for SA/NT and has over 20 years of experience as a pharmacist. She is currently the site manager for HPS Pharmacies at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital, overseeing the provision of the pharmacy services to the facility. Paula has been a PDL SA/NT Local Advisory Committee (LAC) member since 2011 and has been the committee’s Chair for the last six years.

Bruce has been elected as the Director for QLD, taking over from Gilbert Yeates who had reached the maximum permissible tenure as a Director. Bruce has a strong background in governance and leadership, and has been a President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Queensland Branch, a national board member of the PSA, board director of the Capricornia Division of General Practice and Chairman of the Central Queensland Medicare Local (now known as Primary Health Network).

PDL Chair, Paul Naismith, congratulated the new Directors and welcomed them to the PDL Board. “Congratulations to Paula and Bruce. We value their expertise and look forward to their contributions to PDL and the Board.”

Paul also took the opportunity to acknowledge the previous Directors for both states. “I would like to acknowledge Gilbert Yeates’ retirement as Queensland Director and Deputy Chair. Gilbert’s contribution and support have been second to none over the past 16 years. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Ian Todd, for his valuable commitment and engagement with PDL and the Board during his four years as a Director. We are grateful that both Gilbert and Ian have agreed to remain connected with PDL through their ongoing roles on our QLD and SA/NT Local Advisory Committees.”

In addition, PDL takes this opportunity to congratulate WA Director Celia Sansom, who has been appointed as the new Deputy Chair following Gilbert’s retirement.
